![]() ![]() The annual general meeting has not yet been held. ![]() More than 35 parents attempted to join the association as paid members to have a vote on the future of the sport, but their memberships were rejected, parent Janine Handley said earlier this week. ![]() The disciplinary action by PMBA came after the coaches and parents actively rallied to encourage new members to sign up to the club, enabling them have a say at the association's August annual general meeting. The board cited breaches of the association's code of behaviour policies when banning the coaches. The concerns focused on action against three of the club's coaches who were banned by the PMBA board for a combined total of 12 years, while two U18s players were also ousted after an on-court protest about those bans. It comes after concerns about decisions made by the board were made public by a contingent of parents, players and coaches this week. All club members and life members were notified via email. Basketball NSW issued advice on Friday evening (September 18) with the stand down effective immediately. All board directors of Port Macquarie Basketball Association (PMBA) have resigned. ![]()
